Homemade Bhel Puri - made my day

Why am I feeling refreshed at 11.40 pm . ..

We took some time to revive old memories today:- Saw our wedding DVDs. Oh boy .. I was filled with memories .. 1 Made Therati Pal (Milk sweet) was remined of my good ol days at home with parents .. On youtube, we saw many many hindi songs from bollywood.. Archu enjoyed her swing time at the park .. Wrapped up post-dinner with bhel puri .. luckily I had all the ingredients at home

We have this laptop connected to our 52'' TV and the best thing about this arrangement is that we can use the TV as the monitor, and with a wireless keyboard and mouse, we see all movies (Indian/Bollywood) from the comfort of our couch 6 ft away ! Neat .. ain't it ? I know netflix does it, but with Netflix, I cant find the 'Indian' movies and serials (soaps) etc

Titanic movie was running on TNT channel ! Its one of my all time favorites and couldn't help but watch it (again!).. A right blend of drama and romance coupled with emotions; makes me shed tears. Ofcourse I am referring to 'happy-tears' here !

PS: Bhel Puri is an Indian snack.

What's on my mind now

How hard can job hunt be ? Two simple words, but a long process behind it. As on July 2010, the unemployment rate in USA stands at 9.5%, including 14.6 Million unemployed persons. Especially in Houston - spending all that money on filling your gas tank, and daycare, in pursuing an unpaid internship while in school ? I don't know ! Hi-Tech thieves selling children's social security numbers long before the little one's even have a bank account ! How horrific ..

Scars of time

Situations we wish never happened in the first place, certain periods of time that seemed to pass very slow, like eternity but that will also pass. But there is always a reminder lingering in the mind, i think it is subconcious, and is there to stay in you for as long as you live.

Discovering the 'Roots'

I remember being fascinated by a TV commercial for a website called Ancestry.com. It was a new concept, in 2005 perhaps.  I love how in the US, they trace the roots with the Social Security Number  and form the family tree. Hailing from India, a country that has existed and birthed generations much earlier that the US; I often wish that our ancestors had some sort of tracking mechanism. I'm glad that the PAN number concept has sprung up in recent times, but nevertheless. How many of us can pin point where we came from?  I would love to know though. Many of us have moved cities. Many of us have parents that made the move earlier on in their careers. I know Indians in the US who were born here because their great grand parents moved here in 1950s. I am curious to know more about my Ancestory. We don't have any tracking mechanism such as Social Security numbers, but it would be nice if I knew the profession the men folk were ...
