Friendship

The most beautiful discovery best friends can make is that they can grow separately without growing apart ! So many friends through school and college and work .. Eventually we all go different ways as life takes us. Many get married, move to newer cities .. what if we move to new countries .. we tend to start our life all over again .. responsibilities increase and priorities change. All of this demand time. Could it affect friendships?

I cherish my friends and what I love the most is everyone has something special about them. I always focus on the positives that each person has to offer, because remember, no two persons are the same ! What could be more pleasure than having girl friends with whom you can chit-chat :)

Thanks to the social networking sites, I can (so can you all) keep in touch with all my friends - thank you orkut, facebook, twitter, etc etccc. As years go by, I have realized the value of relationships, to have that support network - both emotionally and spiritually.

I also came across this saying somewhere, quote "Life is too short to stress yourself with people who dont deserve to be an issue in your life" end quote. Think about it, how true is that !! Give it a thought ..

What's on my mind now

How hard can job hunt be ? Two simple words, but a long process behind it. As on July 2010, the unemployment rate in USA stands at 9.5%, including 14.6 Million unemployed persons. ( source - US Census Bureau) Where are the jobs ? Are unpaid internships even worth the time and effort ? Especially in Houston - spending all that money on filling your gas tank, and daycare, in pursuing an unpaid internship while in school ? I don't know ! Hi-Tech thieves selling children's social security numbers long before the little one's even have a bank account ! How horrific ..

Scars of time

Situations we wish never happened in the first place, certain periods of time that seemed to pass very slow, like eternity but that will also pass. But there is always a reminder lingering in the mind, i think it is subconcious, and is there to stay in you for as long as you live.

Discovering the 'Roots'

I remember being fascinated by a TV commercial for a website called Ancestry.com. It was a new concept, in 2005 perhaps.  I love how in the US, they trace the roots with the Social Security Number  and form the family tree. Hailing from India, a country that has existed and birthed generations much earlier that the US; I often wish that our ancestors had some sort of tracking mechanism. I'm glad that the PAN number concept has sprung up in recent times, but nevertheless. How many of us can pin point where we came from?  I would love to know though. Many of us have moved cities. Many of us have parents that made the move earlier on in their careers. I know Indians in the US who were born here because their great grand parents moved here in 1950s. I am curious to know more about my Ancestory. We don't have any tracking mechanism such as Social Security numbers, but it would be nice if I knew the profession the men folk were ...
